Natural Branch Wreath - for any occasion
Change the theme by changing embellishments and color scheme. Make an adorable addition to a baby's room by using baby theme ribbon and embellishments. Create a spring wreath by using spring colors, birds, eggs, and other spring theme items.
WREATH SIZE
Use any size wreath for your needs. I chose a heart shaped wreath because this was to be used for Valentine's Day.
A small, round wreath with "birds' eggs" and flowers would be nice for a spring wreath.
Gold pinecones, with white paint and glitter "snow", would make a beatuful winter wreath.
SUPPLIES
heart shaped wreath made from natural branches
silk flowers
wire cutters (to cut through silk flower stems)
hot gun / hot gun glue sticks
other decorative items of your choice (optional)
DIRECTIONS
1. Cut Stems
Cut stems close to the place where the stem meets the base of the flower. Leave a little bit of stem for glue (see step 2).
2. Lay Out Flowers
Start placing flowers to get an idea of where you want them. Do this while glue gun heats up.
3. Apply Glue - use either of these two methods
3a. Apply Glue To Wreath
Place glue on the wreath in areas where the flowers will be attached.
3b. Apply Glue To Flowers
Rather than applying glue to the wreath, you can apply glue to the back of the flowers. Either method is fine.
4. Attach Decorations
Decide where other decorations will be placed. Lay them out to check placement. Once you are sure of placement, use either method 3a or 3b to glue the items to the wreath. Hold the item in place for a minute or two as glue cools and dries.
I chose hearts as my additional decor.
Finished Wreath
I applied all decorations and flowers to one area of the wreath (lower left side).
When finished, I tied a twine loop to the back of the wreath for hanging (a metal door hanger works well for hanging a wreath from the top of a door).
Set of 4 gift bags from one yard of fabric. 3 sizes plus a wine bag. Super easy!
