Seeking New Adventures

At this time of year, do we get out in nature? Or get serious about working?

What is ahead??

With fall and winter holidays fast approaching, our workshop has been busy getting new holiday projects ready. The changing of the seasons is so beautiful in the Pacific Northwest - it’s a great time to change out our home decor.

Hike Or Work??

Northwest Hiking

Just this morning, a friend asked me to go hiking or biking with her. I told her no - too much to do. She reminded me that THE BIG DARK will be here soon (what I call our winter season). She is right - I “should” be out enjoying the sun while it is still around. Our unusually warm temperatures have sent most Northwesterners OUTDOORS. Yet - I am inside working.

We have no rain in the forecast for the next week, so I still have days to get out. Perhaps I will take another road trip to the mountains. This photo is of Mt St Helens - taken on a hike a year ago. It is my favorite photo from that day. The weather was perfect for hiking (cold, but not snowing or raining).

So - What Are We Working On??

I have a very small front porch. I have always loved large front porches that are just asking to be decorated. They are so inviting and friendly. I do have a space in a garden in front of my living room window that is not used for anything. I decided to put an outdoor table there, that I could place potted plants on in summer, and decorate in the colder seasons. I looked for a solid wood exterior table. I could not find anything suitable. They were either too expensive, not the right size, or not built for exterior conditions.

I was walking through a local hardware store and saw items that helped me formulate a perfect solution - build a sideboard table! The best part? I used the same paint I had used on the front door and house trim. A beautiful match to the house!

UPDATE 10/6: The projects are now posted!

We are also working on more Christmas projects, so stay tuned!
